What type of exposure suit will I need?
The type of suit that you will require for scuba diving depends on the time of year and depth that you will dive to. From a personal point of view I use a dry suit between December and February, a 6.5 mm semi-dry suit for March and April with a 5 mm full suit for June. During July, August and September the long awaited switch to a shorty. Come October it is time to put the 5mm full suit on once again, switching to the 6.5 mm semi-dry suit for November. (Please note that the above estimations is for depth up to a maximum of 30 metres)
What sort of visibility is the norm?
The majority of the diving you will experience at visibility of at least 25 metres. However it does vary throughout the year but is within the 10 to 40 metre range.
What type of diving is it?
Reefs, walls, caves, marine parks, shore, boat, deep, enriched air diving, to name but a few.
What sort of marine life can be expected?
Barracuda, octopus, moray ells, jacks, grouper, wrasse, cardinal fish, damsel fish, blennies, gobies, starfish, sea urchins, sponges, hard coral, soft coral, sunfish, dolphins, lobster, crab, scorpion fish, nudibranchs and many more. Why not have a look at our extensive Photo Gallery to see for yourself.
What dive sites do we have available?
AtFinatical Diverswe have an abundance of Recommended Dive Sites available for certified scuba divers like yourself. Rather than simply list the dive sites in alphabetical order we have decided to adopt a different approach.
The sites have been divided into two categories namely, New or Recently Qualified Diver Sites and Experienced Diver Sites. By adopting this approach we hope to have divers of similar ability and experience diving together.
When is the best time to go?
The tourism season starts at the beginning of April and runs through to the end of December. So if you are coming with the family then that’s the best time to visit Mallorca / Majorca. Whilst you are away diving they will have something to entertain them. From a purely diving perspective there is diving all year round. In January 2007 we had a dive party of 39 people visit us. Look at the January 2007 News Page for details.
How to get here?
Both chartered and scheduled flights are available to Palma de Mallorca airport (PMI) from airports across the UK, Ireland and Europe. Follow the Flights Link for details on how to book flights to the beautiful island of Mallorca.
