July 2007 News
Becky Jones, a PADI Rescue Diver from Neath, arrives along with Katie Morris for a girl’s holiday in Palma Nova. The diving went without incident apart from the long hours at sea which did pose the odd toilet problem for the said diver.
Caroline Hood & Sarah Patterson from Edinburgh decided to enrol onto the PADI Open Water Diver course. The course went without a hitch, resulting in both Caroline and Sarah getting the scuba diving bug.
During the month we were fortunate enough to see the return of the Padden family, who successfully completed their PADI Open Water Diver course with Finatical Divers – Mallorca in July 2006 by. July 2007 saw them return to complete their PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. All went well and all three passed the course with flying colours.
Perhaps the star of the month is Adrienne Harvey. Having started off the week relatively nervous she showed great grit and determination and worked her way through the PADI Scuba Diver certification. Just take a look at the Adie Jazz hands picture to see for yourself!
At Finatical Divers it is our aim to offer something different for experienced certified divers. July saw sufficient demand for the special trip to the Cabrera marine reserve. Diving here is STRICLTY controlled by the Guardia Civil – Maritime Agency and is only permitted under licence. The reserve is a 90 minute boat ride from the dive centre. The trip is well worth it however. With visibility of more than 40 metres, crystal clear white sandy bottom and an
abundance of marine life.
And finally, July 2007, saw the end of our first minibus. The great white minibus finally gave up the ghost after several months working in the heat. After careful consideration it was decided that she was uneconomical to repair and was subsequently written off.
