August 2007 -  Youngest & Oldest divers of the year

August is very hectic month here in Mallorca. All the hotels are full, the weather is hot and sunny, the water is crystal clear and reaches 28 degrees Celsius! Perhaps the highlight of the month was Maureen Sale. She has lived on the island of Mallorca for almost thirty years and has always wanted to try scuba diving. For her sixty something birthday her partner John bought her the PADI Open Water Diver course. We started off slowly diving on a one to one basis and eventually we got her through the practical aspects of the course.

On the other side of the coin we had our youngest scuba diver of the year, Miss Amy Harvey (10) from Skewen in Wales. She came along with her dad, Chris, and big sister, Adrienne. We packed the van up with the equipment and headed of to the beautiful beach of Portals Vells. Following a thorough briefing the four of us went into the water and completed the required skills. We then went through the Discover Scuba Diving program.

August also saw the arrival of our largest group of the summer season. Eleven lads from Liverpool who where on a Stag weekend! Mike Hill, the stag, and us exchanged emails over a series of weeks and eventually we got them all in the water. Each and every one of them had a fantastic time. Never heard how the wedding went though!
